DESCRIPTION
The DBR22 is a creation of Q by Aston Martin, the division founded in 2012 for the most exclusive projects of the brand. Twenty-two examples were built worldwide, delivered between 2022 and 2024, each uniquely configured by its owner. The name references the DBR1, the open Aston Martin race car that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1959 with Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby. No windscreen, no roof, a direct connection between driver and V12.
The 5.2 litre twin-turbo V12 produces 715 ps and 753 Nm through a ZF eight-speed automatic to the rear wheels. Top speed 319 km/h. The body is entirely carbon fibre, including the DBR1-inspired grille. The rear subframe is 3D-printed in aluminium segments that are then bonded together, the first time Aston Martin used this technique on a production car. Unique shear panels front and rear increase the torsional rigidity of the chassis.
This example carries the Pebble Beach specification, the configuration with which Aston Martin presented the DBR22 in August 2022. Finished in DBR22 Green with Cerakote pinstriping on the grille, fenders and diffuser, a full satin carbon fibre exterior pack, 21-inch centre-lock wheels and a Chestnut Tan and Onyx Black leather interior.
Fun fact: the headlights of the DBR22 reference both the 1959 DBR1 and the Valkyrie hypercar simultaneously. It was the first indication that this design language would influence the future direction of Aston Martin, which later became visible in the DB12 and the Valhalla.
